What’s the difference between onboard audio and PCI sound card audio? What’s the best sound card?

This is a very unique product. So unique that I actually wasn’t really sure of the best way to present it. Partly because I’m not big into the audiophile scene, but also because it’s so different from anything else out there. Basically if you don’t already know you want one, you don’t need to know about this product.

It was returned by the owner (PHT member) since they were unable to increase the recording bitrate manually. The filter(s) for digital recording the HDMI connection are NOT found in GraphEdit and thus there is no known method of recording the HDMI feed with 3rd party software. The Analog filters were found, so you could possibly create a GraphEdit graph to record via Analog (Component, S-video, Composite), although this was NOT tested. Since then an alternative method of recording has been used by other YT’s by directly capturing the live output of the AVER software using a 3rd party screen capture program. PLEASTE NOTE, this product is encrypted by HDCP over HDMI, so you are NOT going to be able to record Encrypted content using the HDMI connection on things such as the PS3, DVD, Blu Ray, Cable box, etc… However, you can record using the Analog Connections (Component, S-video, Composite). UPDATE: Using a screen capture program, you can manually record the Aver Media Center Program while it is outputting whatever you want to record on your monitor. This way you are bypassing the limitations (bitrate) of said program by directly capturing what it is displaying on your screen. By the way, it’s worth mentioning that the frame rate of this vid gets a bit choppy occasionally – this isn’t the games fault, that ran at 30-35 FPS pretty consistantly. As soon as I started recording the footage with Fraps, though, it dropped to about 20 FPS.
